Matthew Napoli is an artist and art educator based in Providence, Rhode Island.
He began his training at San Jacinto College in his native Houston, Texas. Since then, he earned a BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
Napoli has been a grantee of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation, a finalist for the 2022 AXA Art Prize, and an artist in residence at the New York Academy of Art and Chautauqua Visual Arts.
As an art educator, Napoli has taught at Bristol Community College. Quincy College, UMass Dartmouth, and the Newport Art Museum.
